It was one of those situations this past athletic year at Starkville Christian School where the Cougars got their cake and ate it too on the basketball court.
The SCS boys basketball team enjoyed its best season in school history in 2012-13 with a 17-3 record, but it was the manner in which the Cougars handled themselves to that mark is what made coach Alex Thompson the most proud.
Athletes at Starkville Christian are held to a higher standard because the name of the school is written across the front of their jersey.
