SMITH COLUMN: Permenter had a love for Mississippi State

July 20, 2013

SMITH

The Mississippi State baseball program lost a tremendous friend and supporter last week with the death of Don Permenter.
Permenter has a special love and a passion for the Bulldogs, and that was usually sent right back in his direction. He was a good man.
It did not surprise me one bit when I arrived at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point Friday to see a parking lot full of vehicles and a receiving line that stretched all of the way to the front door.
The funeral service for Permenter was held at Calvert Funeral Home on Saturday.
