HOOVER, Ala. – The success or lack thereof for a football team's quarterback can say a good bit about how an offense is going to do.
For the Mississippi State Bulldogs, they have one of the more veteran signal callers in the Southeastern Conference.Â
Senior quarterback Tyler Russell is in his fifth year with the Bulldog program and will be in his second year as the main guy under center.
That has helped the Meridian native take a hold of the offense in Starkville.
"He understands our offense, understands what we're trying to accomplish and can help as a leader out there on the field," MSU head coach Dan Mullen said Wednesday at SEC Media Days at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham – The Wynfrey Hotel.
