Building a tradition: Schmidt likes direction of Vols

July 2, 2013

Schmidt

Last season was a banner year for Starkville Academy athletics and athletic director Glenn Schmidt intends to continue that standard right into the next school year.
“As a whole, I think our whole program was outstanding,” Schmidt said. “I just feel we are going to keep rolling so to speak, let the tradition roll into next year and give us a boost to some of the things we want to do.”
One of the things Schmidt says the Volunteers want to do is to continue to develop their younger teams like softball, cross country and track and field. Those are teams that were competitive last season, but as a new season approaches are poised to be better than ever.
