OMAHA, Neb. – Hunter Renfroe has been known for his offensive power this season.
The junior outfielder's arm has been overlooked, but people noticed it Tuesday night.
The Crystal Springs native recorded his eighth outfield assist of the season in No. 7 (Collegiate Baseball) Mississippi State's 8-0 loss to UCLA in the College World Series national championship series.
Pat Gallagher singled to right field in the bottom of the first. Pat Valaika tried to go from first to third on the base hit, but Renfroe threw a rope to Sam Frost at third base, just in time for him to apply the tag and end the first inning.
Frost blocked the base with his foot and kept Valaika from reaching the bag.
