Knights bounce back for win

June 21, 2013

As pool play continued in the United States Speciality Sports Association 11-year old State championships, the Starkville Knights defeated Vicksburg Billies 6-5.
After losing game one to the Columbus Clippers, the Knights took a note from Mississippi State and asked their coach to let them loosen up and have a little fun.
“First of all, I want to say I am really proud of our kids,” Knights coach Charles Winfield said. “I really challenged them after the first game to come back and play hard. They told me if I would lighten up and let them have fun they would win the game. I told them I would do it their way one time and we won.”
