Maben OKs street contract

June 19, 2013

The Maben Board of Aldermen approved a contract with Calvert-Spradling Engineers in West Point to improve Louise Street, the city’s industrial park road, at a recess meeting Monday.

Maben Mayor Larry Pruitt estimated the project’s value at $350,000, to be paid for with about $300,000 from a Mississippi Development Authority grant and about $50,000 from the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority. In two weeks, he said, Calvert-Spradling would begin surveying the right-of-way, but a timetable to finish is not known.
