OMAHA, Neb. – Wes Rea stepped to the plate in the eighth inning with an inkling of what he might see from the pitcher.
The Mississippi State sophomore first baseman was right.
Rea hit the first pitch in the right field gap for a two-run double that proved to be the game winner as the No. 3 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs beat the No. 3 Oregon State Beavers 5-4 Saturday afternoon in the first game of the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park.
