Freshman Bear blanks Jaguars

Central Arkansas Allen Gum didn't have any problem starting a freshman on the mound in an elimination situation on Sunday afternoon.
Connor Gilmore had a four-hit shutout as the Bears defeated the South Alabama Jaguars 3-0 at Dudy Noble Field.
South Alabama (43-20) was eliminated from the NCAA Starkville Regional, while Central Arkansas advanced for a first-game rematch with Mississippi State Sunday night.
