Gov. speaks on Medicaid issue

Gov. Phil Bryant said during a visit to Starkville Wednesday he felt he was living in a world of “bizarro.”

That’s the term, aimed directly at Democrats in the Mississippi Legislature, the Republican governor chose to describe the minority party’s resistance to reauthorize Medicaid. Four times state Democrats have blocked Republicans’ efforts to reauthorize Mississippi’s Medicaid program in its current format, Bryant said, even rebuffing efforts to add $70 million in state funds to the program.
