There was a ton of excitement for the Mississippi State baseball team on Sunday, but Monday held a different kind of excitement.
The No. 18 (Collegiate Baseball) Bulldogs (43-17) found out Sunday that they were going to be hosting the 12th regional in the history of the school and the first since 2003.
The field of 64 was announced Monday for the NCAA Tournament and MSU found out the three other participants for the 2013 Starkville Regional.
The Bulldogs will welcome No. 2 seed South Alabama (42-18), No. 3 seed Mercer (43-16) and No. 4 seed Central Arkansas (39-20) this weekend for MSU's 33rd appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
“It’s a great field," MSU head coach John Cohen said who has led MSU to three consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. "We’re very familiar with these guys."
