Local volunteer honored with 2013 GIVE award

May 2, 2013

Beverly Hammett doesn’t understand the meaning of the word no. President of the Starkville Lions Club, coordinator of the annual diabetes education health fair (in conjunction with Oktibbeha County Hospital) and an avid volunteer, she is a 58-year-old, one-woman powerhouse who, until recently, strove to maintain a workout regimen traveling 66 miles via exercise bike and a three-mile walking route through Starkville daily.
