Sarah Dodd

Sarah Johnson Dodd, 74, passed away on March 17, 2013 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville.  She was a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church in Starkville, where she served as a deacon and elder and was very active in visiting the shut-ins of First Presbyterian Church.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Johnson Sr. and Gladys Smith Johnson; son, Lee Donovan Dodd; and brother, Don Johnson. 

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jimmy Dodd of Starkville; daughter, Becky Davie (Jim) of Fall City, Wash.; son, David Dodd (Debbie) of Huntsville, Ala.; brother, Floyd Johnson Jr. (Shelia) of Starkville; and grandchildren, Lilly Davie, Calvin Davie, Jane Davie, and Bella Davie and Lauren Kate Dodd and Johnny Dodd. 

Visitation for Mrs. Dodd is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Friday at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.  Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Starkville.  Rev. Joey Sherrard will conduct the service.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Lee Donovan Memorial Fund, MSU Foundation, P.O. Box 6149, Mississippi State, MS 39762 or Charity of Choice.
