Four years of college cost more than they once did.
The College Board reported in 2007 that published tuition and fees for full-time in-state students at public four-year colleges rose 54 percent in inflation-adjusted dollars from 1997-98 to 2007-08. For this and other reasons, Mississippi State University Relations Director Sid Salter said growing numbers of colleges nationwide were offering three-year degree programs.
