Mr. Roland Hayes Drungole, 57, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 at his residenceÂ in Oak Park, Ill.Â
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Pleasant
Hill United Methodist Church in Starkville with Elder Joseph L. Hawkins officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Starkville.
Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
West Memorial Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.
Roland Hayes Drungole was born Nov. 3, 1955 in Starkville to Diana Suzanne Drungole and Carl F. Drungole.Â He confessed Christ at an early age at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where he faithfully served in the Youth Sunday School. He attended Oktibbeha-Webster County High School in Maben and graduated from Lexington Attendance Center in Lexington. He then attended Jackson State University in Jackson, majoring in Business Management. He managed several restaurant franchises and businesses in the Jackson area and later moved to Oak Park, Ill. where he continued with his Business Management and worked at American Airlines for sixteen years.
He thoroughly enjoyed cooking and was called the â€śmaster chefâ€ť by the family. He also enjoyed watching the television broadcast of the late Bishop G. E. Patterson and would often share quotes and sermons from the broadcast with family members and neighbors.
He leaves to cherish his memory his twin brother, whom he shared a very close relationship, Ronald Haynes Drungole ofÂ Sumner; his mother, Diana Suzanne Cummings Drungole Thomas of Oak Park, Ill.; Â five sisters, Linda Diane Drungole of Fishers, Ind., Victoria L. Drungole and Glenda Faye Drungole of Oak Park, Ill., Paula Drungole-Ellis (George Sr.)Â and Daphanie Lee (Johnny) of Starkville;Â two younger brothers, Raymond DrungoleÂ of Starkville and Darrell Stanley Thomas of Oak Park, Ill.Â He also leaves two nieces, Portia Ellis and Savannah Lee of Starkville; six nephews, Darrell S. Thomas Jr. ofÂ Chicago, Ill., Phillip Drungole (Kenya), Jonathan Lee, George W. Ellis Jr., William Paul Ellis, and Jacob Lee, all ofÂ Starkville; one great nephew and a host of
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Abe and Mrs. Ruth D. Cummings; a sister, Carolyn Suzette Drungole, who died as an infant; and his father.
