The Joe Moorhead coach era at Mississippi State got off to a fast and successful start on Saturday night as sophomore quarterback Keytaon Thompson threw for 364 yards and rushed for 109 more.

Thompson accounted for seven touchdowns in the game to tie a Southeastern Conference and school record.

As a team, the Bulldogs had 618 yards of total offense and they held the Lumberjacks to 254 total yards.

MSU plays at Kansas State next week.
