The Greater Starkville Development Partnership's summer concert series, Downtown at Sundown, will feature Motown group The Flames.

The family-friendly concert will begin at 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Fire Station Park on the corner of Russell Street and Lampkin Street.

"We are so excited to welcome The Flames," Partnership Special Events and Projects Coordinator Paige Watson said. "We know the community is really excited about this group."

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the free concert. Coolers will not be allowed.

Watson said more food vendors will be available at this month's Downtown at Sundown concert, including cheese fries from Bin 612, tacos from 929 Coffeehouse, Moe's Original Barbecue and The Pop Porium.

"The back of the park will also have a space for games," Watson said. "It should be a really great night."

The Downtown at Sundown concert series will wrap up on the third Thursday in August featuring Brent Varner and Jake Slinkard.
