The town of Sturgis will host the 2nd annual Sturgis Car and Motorcycle Cruise In beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, sponsored by the Choctaw County Cruisers.

The car show will begin at 8 a.m. Cars and motorcycles must be in place for judging by 11 a.m., and winners will be announced at 1 p.m.

Attendance to the event is free, and there is a $20 entry fee to participate in the car show. Registration and the main staging area will be in front of Carpenter's Cabinets on Main Street.

Sturgis Mayor Billy Blankenship said the money raised in the event will go toward the Diane Jackson Memorial Park and for future events in Sturgis.

Sturgis Smokehouse will be selling hotdogs, hamburgers and pulled pork, and Crawfish Mafia will be boiling crawfish, shrimp and sausage during the event.

Local band Full Circle Party Band will provide live music beginning at 11 a.m.

"This year, it is hosted on Main Street because four local churches are hosting an Easter egg hunt for the community in the park also that day," Blankenship said.

The churches will also provide food for the Easter egg hunt.

A pancake breakfast will also take place Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. to raise money for the local chapter of Relay for Life.

Blankenship said last year, around 75 cars and motorcycles participated in the car show, and more are expected this year.

"Last year we had a really good turn out, and I think it is going to be a fantastic time this year," Blankenship said
