Volunteer Starkville office relocating

Staff Writer

Volunteer Starkville has been operating for nearly 10 years as the hub of volunteer resources in Starkville, but effective March 1, the organization's office was relocated to Moseley Hall at Mississippi State University.

"Due to the collapse of the federal Volunteer Generation Fund Grant, Volunteer Starkville will be reorganizing and operating under a new capacity," a statement from the Volunteer Starkville Board of Directors said. "We will still offer our online services and our nonprofit software training services, but we will be partnering with the Maroon Volunteer Center on the MSU campus to continue our National Days of Service and other community service initiatives."

Volunteer Starkville will also be switching from the use of GiveGab to OrgSync so that community volunteers and MSU volunteers are on the same platform.

"This will mean our Nonprofit Partners will only need to use one volunteer management software and will still be able to reach out to both community members and MSU students with their opportunities," the statement said " OrgSync training for community members and nonprofits will be available through Volunteer Starkville just as it was with the GiveGab software. While this is a change for Volunteer Starkville, we are excited for the opportunities that it holds for us.”

With the change, Volunteer Starkville will relocate its offices to the fourth floor of Moseley Hall at Mississippi State University.
