Dogs and their masters will face off against each other during this weekend's Golden Triangle Kennel Club of Mississippi's licensed dog show and obedience competition.
"This is our annual show," said Mary Morgan, the event's chairperson. "We hold different things during the year such as obedience classes and therapy lessons. The American Kennel Club allows us to hold two events each year and this event is always held on the second week of January."
Judging begins at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The event will be held at the MSU Horse Park and Agricenter at 869 E. Poor House Road.
Events will end at 4 p.m. each day with the awarding of best in show. Points earned by AKC licensed dogs in the show will count championship points, such as the Westminster Dog Show. Obedience and rally shows will be held as well.
Dogs that are not participating are not allowed in the arena during the event. Strollers are not allowed at the event due to safety concerns.
