Jaelyn Delshaun Young, 20, and Muhammad Oda Dakhlalla, 22, were denied bond Tuesday in a preliminary hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge S. Allan Alexander of the Northern District of Mississippi. The two Starkville residents and former Mississippi State University students are accused of planning to join ISIL, the terrorist group which has set up a self-proclaimed state in parts of Syria and Iraq. They were arrested while attempting to board a plane at Golden Triangle Regional Airport, seeking to fly to Turkey and cross the border, according to a criminal complaint filed by federal prosecutors. Both had been under surveillance for some time after expressing wishes online to join the terrorist group, according to court documents.
