Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Superintendent Lewis Holloway was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of simple assault by threats, according to the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department.
A release from OCSD said deputies responded to a disturbance Sunday on Mt. Olive road, during which Holloway allegedly fired a gun into the air. The other parties in the incident signed affidavits against Holloway in Justice Court, who was released on $1,000 bond. Deputies did recover a handgun from the scene, according to OCSD.
County property records indicate Holloway owns a home on Mt. Olive Road. Holloway has been the district superintendent since 2012. The SOCSD Board of Trustees will hold a special called meeting at 6 p.m. Monday evening to discuss a personnel matter in executive session.
