A woman named Maria Huck is sought by Covington, Louisiana, police after disappearing July 29.
A family member was bringing Huck, who also goes by the names Maria Foss and Maria Temperato, to a hospital for a voluntary mental evaluation, according to a news release from Warren Strain, public affairs director for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
"During the trip to the hospital they stopped at a convenience store," the news release said. "While the family member was inside the store, Ms. Huck left the scene in his vehicle and has not been heard from since."
She is described as a white woman in her mid-50s with brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and weighs 170 pounds. She lives in the Biloxi area and is believed to have recently been in New Orleans and Gulfport, according to Strain.
Huck has a history of mental illness and police are seeking her for a medical evaluation. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Covington Police Department at 985-892-8500 or contact a local law enforcement agency.
