Mrs. Billie Walker White, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2012 at Meadowview Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Cappleman of CrossPoint Baptist Church, Rev. Junior Davis of Willamsville Baptist Church of Kosciusko and Rev. Jason Middleton of Meadowview Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at Welch Funeral Home.
Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The daughter of William Abercrombie Walker and Pearl Ellis Walker, Mrs. White was born on Dec. 11, 1927, at the family home in the Walkerâ€™s Gin community of Clay County.Â She attended Mississippi State College for Women and graduated from Delta State University.Â
After teaching Home Economics at Cumberland High School and Maben High School, she served as Director of Food Service for the Starkville School District until her retirement in 1986.
She is survived by two children, Bernie Walker White and his wife, Cathy, and Beverly White Lowry and her husband, Mac.Â Mrs. White had one grandchild, Mary Grace White.Â She is also survived by a sister, Betty Walker Johnson of Mantee.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard F. White in 2004.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Burgess, Bruce Johnson, Bryant Parrish, Porter Phillips, Donnie Walker, and Steve Walker.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mickey Burgess, Bill Johnson, Larry Walker, John Walker, Mike Walker, Zack Walker, and Gordon Wilkinson.
The family expresses grateful appreciation to the employees of the Mississippi State Veterans Home of Kosciusko.Â
