Starkville and Mississippi State University officials confirm plans are in the works to host this year's Bulldog Bash in the Cotton District on Nov. 2, a day before MSU's home football game against new Southeastern Conference foe Texas A&M.
Starkville City Planner Ben Griffith said MSU Student Association representatives filed a permit application to host the event from 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 to 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3. The application asks the city to close a portion of University Drive and other Cotton District side streets in anticipation of the event.
SA President Shelby Balius confirmed the tentative date for the event and said student government representatives met with city officials Thursday as a part of the application's process.
Griffith said the event application is expected to go before city aldermen on July 17 and could be approved then. Since the event's date has not been officially scheduled, Balius said her organization has not booked any bands for Bulldog Bash.
