County students compete in K'nex Challenge at CAVS |

On Jan. 20, Shelia Windom's gifted students from East and West Oktibbeha County Elementary Schools competed in the K'nex Challenge at the Center for the Advancement of Vehicular Systems. CAVS is part of the Bagley College of Engineering at Mississippi State University. Participants from Oktibbeha County Schools included from East Oktibbeha, fifth-graders Marjada Tucker and Carols Wilburn, and from West Oktibbeha, second-grader Lyndrea Kimbrough. Competitors included gifted students representing East and West Oktibbeha County Elementary Schools, Starkville City Schools, Starkville Academy, West Clay Elementary School and several home-schooled students. Of nearly 30 competitors overall, Marjada Tucker placed second overall in the grades 4-6 division, and Carlos Wilburn placed third overall in the grades 4-6 division.
