The Yokohama Tire factory in West Point is officially open, two years after the $300 million project broke ground.
The 1 million square foot plant, which will make truck tires, opened with a major ceremony Monday morning.
Yokohama has already hired more than 260 people and expects to have a total of 500 employees, making up to 1 million tires a year, according to a company news release.
