Mrs. James Richey Simpson, Jr. of Starkivlle is happy to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of her daughter, Amber Lynn Simpson of Starkville, to John William Beck, III, of Brandon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Beck, Jr., of Brandon.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Bennett, Jr., of Starkville, and James R. Simpson and the late Mrs. Mary Louise Simpson of Starkville.
She is a 2003 graduate of Starkville High School. She attended Mississippi State University and she is a 2007 graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, a Bulldog Ambassador, Vice-President of the Dental Hygiene class, on the MSU President's List and the student association.
She is currently employed by the Mississippi State Department of Health Office of Oral Health. She is a member of MOHCA and a Bid 39 member.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Lynnelle _____ of Miami, Fla., and the late Lottie Beck and the late J.W. Beck, Sr., from McComb.
He is a 1997 graduate of Brandon High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Mississippi. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the M-Club. He was voted class favorite.
He is currently employed with Wells Fargo and he is a member of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
The wedding is set for 4 p.m. August 7, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Brandon. The wedding will be officiated by Rev. James H. Taylor of Brandon. A reception will be held at the River Hills Club.
The maid of Honor will be Mary Elizabeth McDavid of Starkville. The matron of honor will be Leslie Phillips McCormick of Oxford.
Serving as flower girl will be Anna Edgar of Ridgeland.
Bridesmaids will be Shannon Hughes Draper of Starkville, Emily McDill Jackson of Brandon, Jamie Erin Nelson of Oxford and Annalee Rice Patrick of Laurel.
The best man will be J.W. Beck, Jr., of Brandon.
Serving as ring bearer will be Conner Bourg of Madison.
Groomsmen will be Byron Brown of Germantown, Tenn.; Jeff Tew and Brian Jernigan, both of Brandon; Michael Walley of Madison; and Alan McCormick of Flowood.
Ushers will be Brian Murphy of Mobile, Ala. and Kyle Thomas of Starkville.
The wedding director will be Sharon Hurt-Criss of Crystal Springs.
The pianist and organist will be Tommy Hunter of Brandon.
Special music will be provided by Ashleigh Smith Powers of Brandon.
