Cameron McKee knew he was in a position to make something good happen for the Starkville Academy Volunteers.
Being in the right place at the right time and getting a little help from teammate Torin Hamilton, McKee was able to score a pair of goals in the first half of Tuesday’s soccer match for SA.
Those were the only scores the Vols needed as they defeated Greenville St. Joseph in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.
SA soccer coach Brad Smith said McKee’s positioning was a key to scoring, especially on the second goal.
“That was something we haven’t done yet this year,” Smith said. “Torin Hamilton played him a great ball in and he was able to finish it off. I’m real proud for Cameron.”
