A Lesson In Fire Safety
Wednesday, 01 October 2008

Submitted photo/SDN

Starkville firefighter Wade Jones  shows Tramon Bell, a young Project Impact student at the T.K. Martin Center at Mississippi State University, what it’s like to wear the “turnout gear” worn by firefighters when responding to fires. Jones and Starkville firefighters visited the Project Impact class last week for a lesson on fire safety. Jones wore his turnout gear so the children would recognize what a firefighter wears and not be afraid of them should they encounter them in an emergency. Jones and the other firefighters also had the children view Fire Engine No. 4 and the equipment inside.
