Diaz takes reins as president of Dental Association |

The Mississippi Dental Association recently installed Dr. Walter D. Diaz of Maben as its president at its 133rd annual conference. Diaz has shown outstanding achievements and contributions to the field of dentistry along with many years of continued dedicated service to the Mississippi Dental Association. Diaz was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up in Latin America. He has been in private practice in Maben for 27 years. He attended the University of Houston, Baylor University and the University of Buenos Aires Dental School. Diaz is involved in the Mississippi Dental Association on many levels having served on the MDA Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee. He serves as the 5th District Representative to the Council on Membership of the ADA and the subcommittee on Marketing, Communication and Benefits Issues.
He serves on the state’s Medical Care Advisory Committee. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Society. He and his wife, Janie, have been married for 29 years and have two children, Derek and Ashley. |
