Expect a wonderful worship experience as The Miracles perform for the 10 a.m. service Sunday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. The Miracles is a choir made up of 24 men and women who live at The Baddour Center in Senatobia — a community for adults with intellectual disabilities. “Our hope is that each congregation leaves with a wonderful worship experience,” said Ryan Hayes, director of The Miracles. “Our first and utmost mission is to show the love of God in our songs and in our testimonies.”
Hayes said during the performance there is a change to get to know two choir members better through their testimonies. “These testimonies are told from their family’s point of view and cover their childhood, school years, and then show the differences that The Baddour Center and The Miracles have made in their lives,” Hayes said. “Also during the performances, people get to know more about The Miracles program and also about The Baddour Center and its mission.” Hayes said the performers love every song they sing, but their favorite may be the “Ole Time Religion Medley.“ Hayes said the songs audiences seem to really enjoy are Ole Time Religion Medley, Written and Red, and Thank You just to name a few. The Miracles travel around the country sharing their gift of music and the mission of The Baddour Center. The Baddour Center is a community where 171 adults with intellectual disabilities live with their peers in group homes or shared apartments. Located on 120 acres in rural Senatobia, residents and day clients earn their paychecks through rewarding vocational experiences on campus.
