Community support helps Habitat make a difference
Tuesday, 08 December 2009
The Starkville Habitat for Humanity affiliate has much for which to be thankful, as do the two families living in their new homes this holiday season.
With your help, we were able to provide eight smiling children with a clean and safe place to sleep. Their parents can now focus on health, education and other social issues vital to breaking the cycle of poverty.
Both sets of homeowners are hardworking, responsible people who want a better life for their children and are very grateful for this opportunity. They now have hope for the future, something they did not see a year ago.
Our goal is to provide a helping hand to these families who are already helping themselves, families who just need a little boost.
Habitat is a Christian ministry devoted to eliminating inadequate housing. Our program is not a giveaway program.
Habitat acts as the mortgage holder on a no-interest, no-profit loan for the home which the new homeowner helps build through their own “sweat equity.”
We solicit your prayers for this mission and also welcome your gifts of time and talents. You may contact us at (662) 323-7008 or visit the Web site at http://StarkvilleHabitat.com.
With your help, we can continue to help others help themselves. Thank you for being a friend to Starkville Habitat for Humanity.

Flo Henley, president
Starkville Area Habitat for Humanity
