Joshua Kalil Abide
The funeral for Joshua Kalil Abide will be at Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with burial in North Cleveland Cemetery. The Rev. Fish Robinson, the Rev. Sid Harmon, and Dr. Park Neff will officiate. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Abide, 20, of Cleveland died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at The Med in Memphis, Tenn. Josh was born on May 9, 1989 in Clarksdale to John and Debbie Abide. He attended PDS and Cleveland High School, where he was a member of the baseball and swim teams and was inducted in the CHS Hall of Fame. He also attended Delta State University and Mississippi Delta Community College. He has worked for Robinson Electric, Eley Engineering and Cleveland Lumber Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland and Merigold Hunting Club. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dr. John Abide, Sr., and T. L. Fullilove, Jr.; and his aunt, Beth Abide Rutledge. Survivors include his parents, John and Debbie Abide of Cleveland; and brother, Hunter Abide of Cleveland; niece, Emma Abide of Cleveland; and grandmothers, Marcia Abide of Maumelle, Ariz., and Ann Fullilove of Duncan; and aunts and uncles, Tommy and Carol Fullilove, Carol Ann and John Janous, John and Diane Fullilove, Terry Abide Stark, John Paul Rutledge, Aimee Abide, Marcia and Luis Natal; and cousins, John and Lynda Miller, Taylor Miller, Meri Ansley Miller, Willis Miller, Charles and Tammy Smith, Apryl Smith, Laurie Smith, Scooter Fullilove, Marshall Fullilove, Grace Moore, Blair Fullilove, Kate Stark, Lindsey Stark, Tess Stark, Mac Stark, Michael Rutledge, Grace Rutledge, Harrison Rutledge, Ana Clare Natal, and Adam Natal. Pallbearers are Jack Westerfield, William Roberts, Jonathan Horne, David Burd, Judson Brown and Eric Pentecost.
