Organizers are preparing an event Friday which will celebrate two milestones and offer supplies to those in need.
LueZarah Robinson will mark five years for both the We Care Committee and LueZarah Robinson Health Care Services. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Starkville Piggly Wiggly on Highway 12.
A supply distribution for elderly, disabled and low-income families will take place beginning at 8 a.m. Items distributed will include household supplies and food items.

The qualifications for the distribution are proof of income and some form of identification. The distribution will be limited to one bag per family. “We would like to reach more people,” Robinson, the We Care Committee’s president, said.
Plus, organizers ask businesses and organizations to set up tables to hand out information to let people know what they do to serve and help the community, Robinson said. Businesses or organizations already planning to attend include: The Mississippi Department of Health; AbilityWorks, Oktibbeha County Co-op, Wal-Mart and Oktibbeha County Hospital. She also said several restaurants are likely to participate.
Churches and choirs are invited to help in the celebration as are ministers to offer a prayer or word, she said.
A canned food drive which started earlier this month will continue beyond Friday – related items can be dropped off at Piggly Wiggly.
“If they still want to give, we will box them up and give them out to the public,” she said.
Also, Robinson is also asking anyone with a connection to LueZarah Robinson Health Care Services to drop by and visit with her.
Plus, organizers will feature a kid’s table.
They’re inviting nurseries and day care centers to bring their children to pick up a bag of candy and goodies, Robinson said.
Robinson thanked the community for its prayers and support and said organizers are “inviting everyone to join our fifth-year celebration.”
For organizations and businesses to learn more about distributing information at Friday’s event or general details on the day’s events, call Robinson at 722-8205, 465-6491 or 323-1601 or Piggy Wiggly store manager Mark Taylor at 324-1300.
