Wednesday, 28 October 2009

Image
Gwen Sisson/For the Bulldog Beat Just like at last Friday’s Downtown PumpkinPalooza, there will be plenty of good family fun at the Mississippi State University Campus Activities Board’s annual Halloween Carnival Thursday evening at the Junction. In the event of rain, the carnival will be held under the east side of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.

BB Staff Reports

Two Halloween-themed events are being sponsored by Mississippi State’s Campus Activities Board this week.

Halloween Carnival

The annual Halloween Carnival and Fall Festival will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Junction on campus.
In the event of rain, the Carnival will beheld under the east side of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field next to the MSU Police Department.
Open to the public, tickets for individual games cost 25 cents each and may purchased at the designated ticket booth.
A costume contest for ages infant to 11 will be held, with judging in different age categories. The contest will begin at 7 p.m.
Games are sponsored by various campus organizations, and food will be sold in the concession area.

Car show scheduled

CAB will host MSU’s first-ever Open Car Show from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the parking lot on the corner of Stone Boulevard and Bully Boulevard on campus.
The event will feature plenty of family-oriented activities, including trick or treating at the various vehicles, games and costume contests for the young and giveaways for the young at heart.
Special appearances will be made by Miss MSU, Bully and the MSU roadster. Registration is under way and is open to the MSU community and the general public.
Free dash plaques will be given to the first 100 vehicles registered. For more information about registration fees, contact the CAB office at 325-2930.
The car show is sponsored by WCBI-TV Channel 4, Cumulus Broadcasting and Waltmon’s Frame and Body Shop.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available; more information is available at the CAB offices by calling the number above or by visiting the Web site at http://www.msstate.edu/org/cab.
