The Starkville 6-year-old Dizzy Dean All-Stars have made it to the final six of the World Series at Snowden Grove Park.
Starkville is also now the only Mississippi representative left standing at the World Series.
After defeating Southaven Nationals 24-9 in four innings Tuesday morning, Starkville advanced to meet Pell City, Alabama, in the third round and got another victory by a narrow 15-14 margin.
"(I'm) so proud of the resilience and effort our boys displayed (Tuesday)," Starkville coach Allan Smith said. "They were on their game offensively and defensively during both games. They also hit the ball better (Tuesday) than they have in the past several games."
Starkville takes on Hobgood Heat, Georgia, at 9 a.m. today.
Smith has been very pleased with what he has gotten out of his team so far at the World Series.
"No matter what happens (today)," Smith said. "I couldn't be more proud of them."
