Sheriff’s Department makes arrest in string of burglaries

Staff Writer

The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department arrested 26-year-old Joshua Lee Horton Thursday afternoon in connection with multiple home and auto burglaries that occurred early Thursday morning.
OCSD Lt. Brett Watson said his office received multiple calls of auto and residential burglaries from the Grand Oaks subdivision on South Montgomery at approximately 7:30 a.m.
A homeowner’s home surveillance system helped deputies develop a lead in the case, Watson said. At 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Horton was arrested and charged with one county of residential burglary and two counts of auto burglary.
Watson said the investigation is ongoing and he expects more charges to be filed in the case. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 662-323-2421.
