A man sought by Starkville police since Tuesday has been arrested, according to a news release from Caryl Pritchard of the Starkville Police Department.
Xavier Devon Cotton, 19, of Starkville, was arrested without incident near Lynn Lane on Thursday, Pritchard said. He was wanted on misdemeanor and felony warrants, and is held in the Oktibbeha County Jail. Cotton's bond is set at $15,000 and his first Municipal Court appearance is expected on Monday, according to the news release.
He was sought after being identified as a suspect in a residential burglary at Wildwood Trailer Park, 1384 Louisville Road. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call on Tuesday and arrested Xavier Deundra Williams, 18, also of Starkville, on a burglary charge. A second person, later identified as Cotton, fled the scene. Anyone with information on his whereabouts was asked to call Starkville police or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers, but Pritchard did not say whether a public tip led to Cotton's arrest.
