It was the kind of a start to a basketball game that the Starkville Christian Lady Cougars wanted on Thursday night.
They just had trouble sustaining success against the Central Academy Lady Vikings.
After jumping out to a 12-1 lead in the first quarter, the Lady Cougars had trouble keeping up that pace and ultimately fell 50-40 at home to the Lady Vikings.
Central Academy went on a 13-0 run in the second quarter to take a 21-18 advantage at halftime, then secured control of the game with a 14-0 run in the third quarter.

Isaac Jamerson scored the last seven points of the first quarter as the Cougars held a 13-11 advantage.
Starkville Christian increased its advantage to 31-16 by halftime and went up 45-23 at the end of three quarters.
Jamerson was the top Cougar in scoring with 22 points, while Isaiah Timbrook also scored in double digits with 13 points.
