The Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center is hosting a fundraising dinner banquet on Thursday at First Baptist Church in Starkville.
The banquet meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Outreach Center of the church located at the corner of Lampkin and Jackson St. in downtown Starkville.
Pam Tebow, mother of Tim Tebow, Heisman trophy winner and NFL draft pick for the Denver Broncos, will speak after dinner is served to supporters of the center.
The daughter of an army colonel, Pam Tebow lived all over the world until she was seventeen, when she entered the University of Florida, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Journalism and Communications.
While in college, Pam met her husband Bob, and they have been married 36 years and have five children, ranging in age from 20 to 31. They also have two sons-in-law and two granddaughters.
Pam and Bob have been called “homeschool pioneers,” because they began homeschooling in 1982, when “homeschool” was not yet a word. Pam recently retired after 24 years of homeschooling, when her youngest son went to college.
All five of the Tebow children were homeschooled, and they all received college scholarships. All five children and their spouses are active in various ministries.
The Tebows lived for a number of years as missionaries in the Philippines, where Bob continues to have an ongoing ministry which employs over 40 national staff and runs an orphanage for 50 orphans. Pam is very involved in her husband’s ministry, coordinating numerous projects and personnel.
Pam also enjoys numerous writing and speaking opportunities and is passionate about encouraging women to trust the Lord with all their hearts for all their lives. The notoriety of the Tebow family has increased recently since their youngest son, Tim, won the Heisman trophy. Because ESPN aired the portion of the interview with Pam that focused on her refusal to abort “Timmy” when she was advised to do so, she now has a national platform to encourage the pro-life message.
Tickets for the event are $35 per person and this includes the tailgating themed dinner. They will be on sale in the church office at First Baptist Church of Starkville or at Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center in Columbus located at 1204 2nd Ave. N in Columbus, which may be reached at (662) 327-0500.
Corporate table sponsorships are available as well. Gold sponsors can purchase a table for $1,000 dollars receiving 8 tickets, silver sponsors for $800 and 8 tickets and bronze sponsors for $500 and 8 tickets.
