The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Thursday morning that offering insurance subsidies at the state and federal level is legal, thus upholding a vital part of the Affordable Care Act.
The 6-3 majority - which included Chief Justice John Roberts - means the health-care reform law also known as Obamacare will remain in effect.
Mississippi is one of 21 states which rejected an expansion of Medicaid to cover many of those who remain ineligible for subsidies.
