New details emerge in Newcomb case

Dan Dwayne Newcomb, arrested Nov. 17 on an incest charge, had his bond set at $50,000 Wednesday, but remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail.

Newcomb, 69, of Fayetteville, Georgia, made his first appearance in Municipal Court on Wednesday.

Newcomb had sexual relations with his eldest daughter on August 10, 2013, according to the affidavit read by Starkville Prosecutor Caroline Moore.

He appeared before Municipal Court Judge Rodney Faver.

Newcomb faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted, according to Mississippi code.

He was charged on Nov. 17 with adultery and fornication; between certain persons forbidden to intermarry, according to SPD.

SPD is looking into another possible victim, according to the affidavit.

Newcomb's Circuit Court appearance will be Dec. 16.
