East Oktibbeha Fire/Rescue and Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) answered a call to a two-vehicle wreck on Monday morning, April 17, on Highway 82.

Emergency services were dispatched at 8:43 a.m. to the scene. MHP is investigating the incident.

The wreck occurred on the west-bound lane of Highway 82 on the Ruth Road overpass, just east of Clayton Village, and did not occur near any exits or merge areas.

Oktibbeha County Fire Services Coordinator Kirk Rosenhan said what appeared to happen was one vehicle was traveling much faster than a vehicle ahead of it, and rear ended the slower-moving vehicle.

There was one person in each vehicle. The driver of one vehicle was transported to OCH for evaluation with minor injuries.
