Justice Court Judge Bernard Crump dies from natural causes

District 2 Justice Court Judge Bernard Crump was found dead Tuesday morning of natural causes, Oktibbeha County Corner Michael Hunt confirmed.
Hunt said the death was sudden and occurred at his home. Crump was 79 years old.
Crump has served as an Oktibbeha County Justice Court judge for 31 years and was nearing the end of his final term on the bench. He has lived in Starkville for 41 years.
He graduated from Tuskegee University in Alabama, completed graduate work at Gammon Theological Seminary and holds an honorary doctorate from Rust College, according to a bio he submitted to the Starkville Daily News as part of his most recent election campaign.
Crump was married to Alveria Coats-Crump for over 50 years and has five children.
