The graveside funeral for Jessie Albert McCoy will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Mr. McCoy, 64, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Carrington Nursing Center in Starkville. He was born in Starkville on September 14, 1946 to Dennis Howe McCoy and Audrey Estelle (Wilson) McCoy. He was a 1965 graduate of Starkville High School and a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. He served in the Mississippi National Guard. Jessie was a truck driver for Bryan Foods for many years. He enjoyed collecting coins and Coca Cola and John Deere items.
Survivors include a son, Jason A. (Angie) McCoy of Columbus; daughter, Mary Beth (William) Sullivan of West Point; grandchildren, Myles A. McCoy of Columbus and Isabella and Mary Hannah Sullivan of West Point; sister, Janet Alford of Kentwood, La.; and brother, David McCoy of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dennis Everett McCoy and grandson, Frost McCoy.
Memorials may be made to Camp Rising Sun, a camp for children who have been or are currently being treated for cancer, P.O. Box 8241, Columbus, MS 39705-8241.
