Jackets shine at first-ever Starkville Invitational

Starkville High welcomed 16 other cross country teams to the Mississippi Horse Park on Saturday for the first-ever Starkville Invitational.
More than 300 individuals competed in the event, with the Yellowjackets putting forth a solid showing.
The SHS varsity boys placed third overall, with Kamau Bostic finishing fourth individually, followed by Joseph MacGown in sixth place and Jonnel Ward in 19th.
Amongst 86 varsity girls, Starkville's Abigail Arinder placed 26th and Anna Jackson finished 31st.
In junior varsity action, Kate Maddox placed first on the girls' side, while both Christian Kingery and Michael Godly finished in the top 10 for the boys.
