The funeral for Hervey Kindall Thompson at will be Friday at 2 p.m. Concord Baptist Church near Ackerman with burial in the church cemetery.
The Revs. Curtis Guess, Roger Griffith and Jerry Lawson will officiate.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements, and on Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at Concord Baptist Church.
Thompson, 80, died on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at his home near Ackerman.
He was a Choctaw County native retired from Hackney Inc. He also served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Concord Baptist Church near Ackerman as well as the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Eubanks Thompson of Ackerman; son, Jeffery Thompson of Ackerman; brother, J.W. Thompson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sisters Dene Alliston of Crystal Springs and Charlotte Vickers of Sturgis and grandchild, Brittani Bowman.
