Ernest "Ernie" A. Bane Jr.

The funeral for Ernest “Ernie” A. Bane Jr. is scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Starkville Church of God with burial will in the Memorial Garden Park Cemetery. The Rev. Hank Anderson will conduct the service.
Visitation for Mr. Bane will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville.
Mr. Bane, 62, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at his home in Starkville. He was a graduate of the Mississippi University for Women in Columbus.
He was the retired owner of a computer networking company, a member of Starkville Church of God, where he served as an elder and financial advisor for many years as well as sound technician, vocalist and bass guitarist.
He was a former member of the Oktibbeha County Hospital Board, an avid Mississippi State University Bulldog fan, and he participated in the foster parent program for the MSU baseball team. He also coached Dizzy Dean Baseball for nine years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. E. A. Bane Sr. and Madolyn Randle Bane.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Kennedy Bane of Starkville; daughter, Nikki Bane (Rhett) Butler of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; son, Craig Daniel (Stacy) Bane of Tupelo; Godchild, Jan Hathorn Bowen of Eupora; sister, Brenda Young of Shreveport, La.; mother and father-in-law, John and Edna Kennedy of Starkville; and four grandchildren, Graham Daniel Bane, Emma Kennedy Butler, Leah Nicole Bane and Gretta Elliot Butler.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
