Mr. and Mrs. Daniel M. Reese of Starkville are happy to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Reese of Fort Lauderdale, to Wayne Michael Alexander of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Alexander of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Scales and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reese, all of Starkville.
She is a 1999 graduate of Starkville Academy and a 2001 graduate of Jones County Junior College with an associate’s degree in science. While at JCJC, she was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and she received a softball scholarship.
She currently owns her own landscape design company in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Micheline Sirota and the late Leon De Houwer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Alexander of Evansville, Ind.
He is a 2001 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and a graduate of JATC Pipe trades School, where he became a certified welder and pipe fitter.
The wedding is set for 6:30 p.m. September 18, 2010 at the home of the bride in the Sessums Community of Starkville. The ceremony will be officiated by Rev. Steve Davis of West Point. A reception will be held at the home of the bride.
Serving as the maid of honor will be the bride’s sister, Mary Celeste Reese of Starkville. The matron of honor will be the bride’s sister, Carole Ann Doughty, of Starkville.
The flower girl will be Mary Mac Sorrell of Madison.
Serving as a bridesmaid will be the groom’s sister, Jennifer Revezzo of Davie, Fla.
The best man will be the father of the groom, Mark Alexander of Plantation, Fla.
The ring bearers will be the bride’s nephews, John Thomas Doughty and Will Evans Doughty, both of Starkville.
Groomsmen will be Billy Hayslip of Pompano, Fla.; and the brother-in-law of the bride, Billy Doughty of Starkville.
The pianist will be the uncle of bride, David Reese.
